I have been reading a really good book lately. Haven't had alot of reading time, so I've taken a month and still haven't finished it. It's called Not Even A Hint, by Joshua Harris. Some of You may have read about it on his blog, which is linked to Marisa's blog. There was this one part I read that just really hit me. I wrote it down on a paper and it's always a good reminder for me. It says,"Christ died so that we could be freed from the hopeless task of trying to justify ourselves."
It also says,"Our obedience cannot earn our forgiveness. Our sorrow cannot pay for our sins. Our tears cannot cover them. No amount of self-inflicted punishment can make us right before God. Even our own death is not enough." Sometimes I tend to forget how forgiving God is. I stay mad at myself for making a mistake(losing my temper, not showing respect), instead of realizing that my God has already forgiven me, and that punishing myself for it won't get me anywhere. What I need to be doing is taking that problem to Him, and totally trusting Him to help me with it. Well, I will try to make my blog rounds tomorrow and leave all of y'all a hello note.
