Friday, January 30, 2004 Hey guys, I got a new blogskin that I really like, let me know what you guys think. Yesterday at work I got to use a pressure washer on the sidewalks for the first time, it was alot of fun. Then that night I went to a class called true love waits, it was awesome. We watched a video by a christian speaker named Pam Stenzel that talks about dating, saving sex for marriage, and only being interested in ppl you could see as marriage material someday. She's a really good speaker, and funny too. Well, hope everybody has a great weekend, I may post again before Saturday, but not sure. Blessings! Wednesday, January 21, 2004 Never has there been and never again
Will there be another you Fashioned by God’s hand And perfectly planned To be just who you are And what He’s been creating Since the first beat of your heart Is a living breathing priceless work of art lyrics taken from the song Fingerprints of God, by Steven Curtis Chapman The reason I put these lyrics on here is because this song reminds me that I don't need to try and waste all my time trying to be somebody I'm not, or trying to fit in. I've wasted time trying to do that before, but realized it doesn't get you anywhere, and that if people only like you for being someone you're not, then they're not really that great of friends. 1 Corinthians 4:16 tells us "Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me." There are a few other places in the Bible where Jesus is basically saying the same thing, like 1st Corinthians 11:1, Ephesians 5:1, Phillippians 3:17. It's kinda obvious He was trying to get a point across, and if that's the case, why are there so many of us who try to be followers of men, in other words, follow the fads, change who we are just to be popular. I think I've made my point, so I'm done typing for now. Jesus Bless everyone! Okay, I guess I'll write on the subject of being a twin. First I'll start with answering some of the common questions. Question 1: do we think alike?
Well, not really. Sometimes I'll be thinking a song and then Ashley will start singing it, or vice versa, and sometimes we say the same thing at the same time, but we're not psychic or anything freaky like that. On to the next question, do we ever play tricks on people? Yes. At camp in Glorieta we went to each other's Bible study, but the teachers were smart and it didn't work. One time I put a fake birthmark by my eye to be Ashley and tricked a few people. One fun thing about being a twin is I've always had someone my age to hang out with and never had to play by myself as a kid. One thing that I did have to do is learn to answer to two names instead of one. Some likenesses and differences about us: we don't really like to dress alike too much, but one freaky thing is sometimes we get dressed in the same clothes without even knowing it, then we fight over who has to go change. I like to wear blue, green and yellow, and she likes to wear red and orange. Also, her shoes are usually a little clunkier than mine, but we both like the same tennis shoes. Another difference, Ashley is good at volleyball, and I can't even play, but I like to run more than she does. We both like soccer and hockey alot. Another likeness is we both love to work with kids, we have a second grade sunday school class. We are different in the aspect that Ashley likes to draw and I like to write, also her voice is a little deeper. Another question I get asked alot is if we fight alot. I guess we argue about the normal amount, but nothing real big and we don't usually stay mad. Oh yeah, and the most annoying question asked by people: "Are y'all twins?" It's like, here's your sign! If y'all have anything else I need to write here about twins, just leave it in the comments and I'll answer you're question. Later dudes! Friday, January 16, 2004 What if His people prayed
And all who bare His name Would humbly seek His face And Turn from their own way And what would happen if we prayed For those raised up to lead the way Then maybe kids in school could pray And unborn children see light of day What if the life that we pursue Came from a hunger for the truth What if the family turned to Jesus Stopped asking Oprah what to do taken from the song What if His people prayed, by Casting Crowns Thursday, January 15, 2004 Okay, I decided to do one of those lists like Anna, Marisa and Tex have.

Mine was pretty busy, one friday out of every month the church has a thing called middle school madness, and another thing called gymjam(for 1st thru 5th grade), and parents drop off their kids from 6:30 to 10:00 to go out to eat. I usually work Gymjam, but I'm helping my friend Bean with middle school, to try something new, and spend more time with her for her last 7 months here. Saturday Ashley and me went to Bean's apartment and helped paint, then we all saw cheaper by the dozen. It was a cute movie, I enjoyed it. Sunday we tught our 2nd graders and then went to church service as usual, then after church I went home with one of my kids, Austin, and his family to spend the day with them. He and his sister Allie are sweet kids. We played soccer for awhile, then went over to a house that was being built and played hide n' seek in it. That nite Austin got out his bow and arrow and we went in the backyard so he could try and shoot a deer. He didn't shoot anything, but it was still fun to watch him try. Today we went over to the new neighbors' house for a little bit to play with the 11 year old, Sydnie. She's a really sweet girl and very cool. Well, gotta head out for now. Jesus Bless everybody! Alicia Wednesday, January 07, 2004 I haven't posted in a few days, so I decided I guess it's about time. It's been a busy week, We've been at my grandma's alot helping her do stuff, and then we had our regular weekend and church, and then I just never got around to posting. I decided I wanted to post a similar post to one I saw on another blog(their title and things were a little different)-
10 reasons dogs make awesome friends 1. They always look out for you 2. They are very loving 3. They can tell when you're having a bad day 4. They like hugs 5. They listen, even if they don't understand 6. They like to go on walks(something I love) 7. They're very loyal 8. They know when to leave you alone 9. They're lots of fun 10. They like to run(something else I enjoy) Today I got this really fun game calle twister moves, and it comes with 4 mats and a CD. The mats have colored circles and the CD tells you where to put your hands and feet to make dances. If you mess up, you're out. My sisters and me played for 3 hours, of course we didn't kick anybody out when they messed up because we were having so much fun. Oh yeah, last year I did my read the bible in a year thing, and I think I'm gonna try to do it again, because it seems like I learn something different out of Bible verses the more times I read them. Tomorrow I gotta work, so I better head to bed. Oh yeah, last nite I beat Pepe at a contest, it was great, and I thought it would be impossible. Jesus Bless everybody, and have a great tomorrow. Saturday, January 03, 2004 Hey guys, hope you all had fun on New Year's, or December 30-31. I had alot of fun, the church I go to had a lock-in for the youth. I'm not really included as a youth anymore, but was allowed to come anyway. What I didn't know was that they'd need me as a sponsor, but was glad to do that. We went and played Lazerquest, which I am terrible at. I got 21st place out of 30 peeps, then 17th. We went back to the church afterward, and played a really fun game called Underground church, it'a a Christian alternative to Hide n' seek, but much more exciting. I was happy to have my cousins Renee and Chrispa come, they r cool. I'm really bored, nobody got online tonite, so I'm hoping to be on at earlier times soon. Tomorrow nite I'm going to grandma's again, but will post before I leave. This Sunday is my friend Kim's last day here before she goes to school. I'm going to miss her, she's a good sign teacher, great 3rd grade sunday school teacher, but most of all an awesome friend. I have a prayer request for her, for her to do well in college, and adjust to the environment there. Thanks guys, and Jesus Bless. |
